Not-for-profit organisations across the Southern Downs region are being offered the opportunity to apply for a portion of the Southern Downs Regional Council (SDRC)$60,000 2017/2018 Grants to Community funding program.

The SDRC supports a number of community based not-for-profit organisations with their projects or activities through its Grants to Community funding programs. The Council will open Round Three Grants to Community for the Community Grant, Event Grant and Sport and Recreation Grant funding streams.

Applications are capped at $10,000 per application, per financial year.

Funding is available for projects or activities taking place between Monday 30 April 2018 and Tuesday 31 July 2018. Round Three will open on Thursday 22 February and close on Thursday 22 March.

SDRC Mayor Tracy Dobie said she is delighted the Council has made extra funding available to the region’s non-for-profit organisations, which is in addition to the $247,000 of funding that has already been awarded to successful recipients this financial year.

To make the Council’s Fast Grant more accessible, they have relaxed the Grants to Community, with the applications not needing to be for a short-term emergent or immediate need.

The Fast Grant is open now and closes on Friday 15 June.

“Council is committed to assisting our not-for-profit community groups that work tirelessly to enrich and enhance our community. I encourage not-for-profit organisations to apply for the funding and, as always, don’t leave it to the last minute,” Council Mayor Dobbie said.
