Harrison (Harry) Weir has completed his entire primary and secondary schooling at Toowoomba Grammar School. In 2013 Harry was appointed the School Captain of the Junior School, and this year he holds one of the three top student leadership positions in Year 12, Senior Dayboy Prefect. In Harry’s Year 6 school report his classroom teacher, Mrs Wharton, stated that, “Harrison is a bright and capable student who approaches his work carefully and thoughtfully. He is reliable, well mannered and shares his friendship easily with classmates.” 

Harrison is a highly capable and hardworking student who hopes to study Commerce or Finance next year. As well as a strong academic performance, Harry is passionate about sports. Currently he is an opening pace bowler for the school’s First XI cricket team and holds full school colours in this sport. Last year Harry was selected in the Queensland Under 17 side and competed in the national competition. During the recent holidays Harry participated in the Neil Dansie Cricket Festival held in Sydney. The First XI cricket team of Toowoomba Grammar competed against St Peter’s College (Adelaide), St Kevin’s College (Melbourne) and Knox Grammar School (Sydney). Harry also toured to New Zealand in the summer break with the TGS Cricket team in a sporting and cultural tour. Harry also enjoys football (soccer), rugby union and athletics as a high jumper and 400 metre runner.

Complementing his academic studies and sporting endeavours, Harry is a member of the School’s Interact Club where he actively participates in fundraising for charities and community events.
