Betty’s Burgers, Queensland’s award-winning burger-shack, is preparing to open its fifth venue in Toowoomba’s Grand Central Shopping Centre.

Initially inspired by owner David Hales’ grandmother, Betty Anderson, Betty’s Burgers & Concrete Co. is a classic burger shack experience paying homage to the 1950’s. Serving burgers alongside its own signature style, house-made frozen custard ice creams, residents of Toowoomba are in for a treat.

Betty’s Burgers patties are hand made using the local grain fed beef, selected due to its consistent marbling. Patties are intentionally pressed on the grill to create a thick crust, locking in the natural juices.

All of the well-known menu choices will be on offer, including the Betty’s Classic; Angus beef, lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, Betty’s Special sauce, and the Crispy Chicken Burger, while the ‘Bare Betty’, encased in cos lettuce, provides a healthier option.

For all those sweet tooth’s out there, finish the meal with one of Betty’s ‘Concretes’, a house-made, frozen custard ice-creams. There are a selection of flavours including honeycomb, orange biscuit crunch and the luxurious spiced pecan and banana cream pudding.

The new store will be part of Toowoomba’s Grand Central Shopping Centre’s $500 million redevelopment.

“Toowoomba will mark the opening of our fifth venue and we couldn’t be more excited.

We are so happy to be a part of the redeveloped Grand Central Shopping Centre and to be bringing the Betty’s taste to a whole new audience,” says Director of Operations, Nik Rollison.

With a pastel-coloured design aesthetic that pays homage to the 1950’s, the restaurant is bound to stand out. Briefed to ‘bring the beach to the city’, Paul Kelly Design has installed handmade floor tiles, custom imported Italian wall tiles, hand-painted shingles, and a one of a kind custard machine in the new store.

First launched by hospitality entrepreneur David Hales in 2014, the brand new Toowoomba store is set to open on Wednesday, 29 March.
