Close to 50 Western Downs business owners gained an insight into how to hire, engage and reward their employees the right way at a complimentary breakfast event hosted by Dalby-based accounting and business advisory firm BMO on Thursday 7 March. Attendees received tips on how to find the right employees to help their business grow and be profitable. The presentation by BMO HR Manager Dave Adams also included information on the correct way to engage employees, how to watch out for the pitfalls of casual vs permanent, and how to protect your business from underpayment and unfair dismissal claims. BMO Business Centre hosts regular breakfast events which are open to the public and aimed at local businesses. The concept is about encouraging local business networking and a sharing of information and/or ideas to help us as individuals and to improve our businesses. Guest speakers have ranged from meteorologists, to world renowned mixed martial artists, economists, motivational speakers, workplace health and safety experts and everything in between.
