The youngest of three girls in the Leicht family, Ruby is not one to sit in the shadows of her sisters.

Ruby Leicht carries herself with quiet confidence, a dazzling smile and an energetic approach to every task. During her time at The Glennie School, Ruby has competed in every Andrews Cup event possible including touch football, swimming, cross country, netball, gymnastics and athletics. Ruby felt honoured to captain the 10 to 12 Years Darling Downs Touch team and has proved to be a talent on the field. As a Darling Downs representative and one of the four fastest athletes in her age group, Ruby was selected to compete at the State Athletics Championships in Cairns in October. She competed in the 100m, 200m, 4 x 100m relay and long jump. Her outstanding performance in the long jump saw her selected for the 10 to 12 Years Queensland Track and Field Team to compete at Nationals in Melbourne.

Ruby’s goal is to train hard and listen to the advice provided by her coaches to one day be selected for the Australian Athletics team. While Ruby excels in her individual pursuits, she also enjoys playing in team sports. In her final months of Year 6, Ruby is embracing her role as House Official. In this position she works with older students and teachers to coordinate the swimming carnival, athletics carnival, ball games and cross country for the Junior Years cohort. Ruby enjoys the opportunity to help other students. These attributes are sure to set her up for success in her goal careers of nursing or PE teaching.
