To be the Face Of Weetwood has been a dream of local mum Vanessa Gleeson for many years. Ms Gleeson was thrilled when she was chosen by the Toowoomba Turf Club (TTC) to be this year’s Audi Centre Toowoomba Weetwood Face Ambassador.

The 40-year old is a lover of horses and racing, and as such was a very good fit for this year’s role. “It’s an absolute honour to take the step and be the Ambassador for this wonderful, local event. It’s an incredible opportunity,” Gleeson said.

A mother of two, Ms Gleeson has extensive connections regarding horse racing. Her husband’s family owns and runs the successful breeding farm Gleeson Thoroughbred Connections in Chinchilla, at which they bred one of Queensland’s most recent favourites, the galloper Rothfire. “I love Weetwood, I am so excited for race day and all the excitement in the lead up. Weetwood is so important to the local community; September 25 can’t come quick enough!” she said.

Gleeson will represent Clifford Park at all of Weetwood’s events on 25 September, including the Weetwood Golf Day, Breakfast With The Weetwood Stars, barrier draw, the TAB Weetwood Calcutta Sportsman’s Lunch and, of course, the Audi Centre Toowoomba Weetwood Race Day. The Toowoomba Turf Club congratulates Vanessa on her appointment as 2021 Face Of Weetwood.

“Vanessa, as the Face of Weetwood, will assist with raising the profile of the Audi Centre Toowoomba Weetwood locally as well as interstate,” TTC Chairman Kent Woodford said. “The community is extremely proud of this event and Vanessa will represent the Weetwood and all associated events with confidence, style and sophistication,” Mr Woodford said.
