On Saturday, 14 October, Fairholme College
will be alive and buzzing with three huge events planned to mark 100 years at the Wirra Wirra Street site
. Mark it in your diary – you will not want to miss any of them!
On the day, Fairholme College will open its grounds to the public in what is expected to be its biggest and best Spring Fair yet. Stroll through the beautiful grounds and enjoy entertainment and quality market stalls including The Nook, Chase & Hide, Lisa Kennedy, and Wattle and Twine.
A range of activities will make it perfect for the whole family. Little ones will delight in visiting the animal petting farm, getting their faces painted by Cleo the Clown, and taking a step back in time riding in a horse and carriage around the Wirra Wirra street block. After a busy day, sit back and enjoy tasty cuisine at the International Food Hall. The Spring Fair will be open from 10am to 3pm.
Facets of Fairholme
, the college’s first Art Exhibtion, also will take place across the weekend, to celebrate 100 years of Fairholme. More than 60 artists will be shown and the committee is excited to see the diverse range of quality work that will be displayed in the Assembly Hall on October 13, 14 and 15. The official opening will be held on Friday, October 13. Doors will open at 6.30pm. Tickets are $60 per person and include a delicious spread of champagne and canapes. For only $5, viewers can visit on Saturday, 14 October to browse the work on display between 10am and 3pm. On Sunday, 15 October, the exhibition will open again from 10am to 3pm, with a special Old Girls in the Arts in Conversation discussion from 10.30am to noon. Fairholme Fashion Week
is another prelude to this year’s Fairholme Spring Fair. Fairholme Fashion Week aims to celebrate and promote fashion in the Toowoomba region. This unique event returns for its biggest year yet, with a number of workshops
held from Monday 9 October until Saturday 14 October. Student fashion designers are encouraged to enter the fashion competition, where more than $3000 worth of prizes is being awarded. Fashion lovers are invited to join any of the amazing workshops offered across the week. There will also be a Ladies Shopping Evening called Designer D’Occasion
where shoppers can sell their designer clothing or pick up a few new treasures for their wardrobes. The fashion week culminates with the judging of the Fashion Design competition at the fabulous Fairholme Gala Fashion Parade at 2pm on Saturday 14 October.
