On Saturday, 14 October, Fairholme College will be alive and buzzing with three huge events planned to mark 100 years at the Wirra Wirra Street site. Mark it in your diary – you will not want to miss any of them!

On the day, Fairholme College will open its grounds to the public in what is expected to be its biggest and best Spring Fair yet. Stroll through the beautiful grounds and enjoy entertainment and quality market stalls including The Nook, Chase & Hide, Lisa Kennedy, and Wattle and Twine.

A range of activities will make it perfect for the whole family. Little ones will delight in visiting the animal petting farm, getting their faces painted by Cleo the Clown, and taking a step back in time riding in a horse and carriage around the Wirra Wirra street block. After a busy day, sit back and enjoy tasty cuisine at the International Food Hall. The Spring Fair will be open from 10am to 3pm.

Facets of Fairholme, the college’s first Art Exhibtion, also will take place across the weekend, to celebrate 100 years of Fairholme. More than 60 artists will be shown and the committee is excited to see the diverse range of quality work that will be displayed in the Assembly Hall on October 13, 14 and 15. The official opening will be held on Friday, October 13. Doors will open at 6.30pm. Tickets are $60 per person and include a delicious spread of champagne and canapes. For only $5, viewers can visit on Saturday, 14 October to browse the work on display between 10am and 3pm. On Sunday, 15 October, the exhibition will open again from 10am to 3pm, with a special Old Girls in the Arts in Conversation discussion from 10.30am to noon. A panel of artists will discuss art, how to choose the right works for your home, and where art is headed in the modern world. Purchase tickets online www.fairholme.qld.edu.au
