Fairholme College‘s annual Fashion Week is held as a prelude to the Fairholme Spring Fair, celebrating and promoting Toowoomba fashion from Monday 15 to Saturday 20 October. The event provides students and interested adults with a variety of opportunities through which they can learn about and experience the industry from a number of perspectives.
Fashion designers from the South West and South East Queensland regions were invited to submit original, spring-inspired cotton creations for judging in the 2018 BOOST Juice Fairholme Fashion Awards. There were two categories people were able to enter, one for school students and one that anyone could enter. Guests were invited to try to produce an ‘outfit’ inspired by the 80s Party Girl look. With the design brief Glamour 0.8 the outfit had to be suitable to wear to day or evening events such as the Races, Cocktail Part, Evening Wedding, The Theatre, Dining Out or Dancing. Students in Middle and Senior School (Years 7 to 12) were given the design brief 80s Glamour and were invited to try producing a 1980s inspired party dress that could be worn to an afternoon tea party or an after 5pm evening event.
