The Felton Food Festival took place over the weekend of Saturday and Sunday, 25 and 26 March. Held annually, the Festival is a showcase of everything for which the Felton Valley is famous. While the food is always king, there were plenty of activities to take part in over the weekend. Two farm tours ran, perfect for families, friends, farmers and food lovers to enjoy, before guests wound down at the inaugural Twilight Dinner, featuring a gourmet barbecue with protein and produce sourced from the local region, cooked by Alastair McLeod with help from Costa Georgiadis. Festival day embraced the theme ‘Science Changing Agriculture’, in partnership with the World Science Festival. Activities and stalls showcased the ways science is changing agriculture, educating and captivating visitors and celebrate the future of farming. Visitors had the opportunity to mingle amongst the wide range of market stands, take a crop tour, meet a local farmer, witness a cooking demonstration, learn about the paddock to plate process, and relax in the country atmosphere. Celebrity guests included Alison Alexander, Jerry Coleby-Williams, and country singer Brendon Walmsley. George the Farmer was also back for another year, and kept the kids entertained.
