The Toowoomba Hospital Foundation is calling on the local community, families and even businesses to don a Santa hat and lace-up their sneakers to walk or run five kilometres for the Christmas Centre Run in aid of raising funds for the 2018 Clifford Gardens Toowoomba Hospital Children’s Appeal.

Held in partnership with Stonestreets Coaches, Clifford Gardens Shopping Centre and CUA the event will take place in December starting at the Glennie School and finishing at Clifford Gardens. Toowoomba Hospital Foundation CEO Alison Kennedy said nothing beats kicking off December and the festive season then by dressing up as Santa, grabbing your mates and raising funds for a good cause. “The Christmas Centre Run is such an incredibly fun morning! You can walk or run, and we even throw in the Santa attire with your registration,” she said. “It’s always so heart-warming to see our community support this event and we would love to see as many people, families and businesses register to take part and help make a difference in the lives of Toowoomba Hospital’s littlest patients.”

Alison said anyone can register to take part in the Christmas Centre Run and support this year’s Children’s Appeal by creating a fundraising page and sharing it with friends and family. “This year funds raised from the run will go towards the purchase of two new OmniBed incubators to help nursing staff care for sick, premmie and high-risk babies born in the Toowoomba Hospital,” she said.“We’re encouraging everyone to visit our website, register and help fundraise so we can provide mums and their precious bundles of joy all the support they need to go home happy and healthy.”
