Until 21 August, the staff at the Toowoomba Hospice Association are holding a fundraising campaign to raise $90,000 to continue their great work with palliative care patients. The 6-bed private health care facility aims to provide a comfortable, respectful environment for individuals and families experiencing terminal illness. Since its opening in July 2003 the Association has supported over 1000 clients. Regardless if a client has private health care or not, Toowoomba Hospice supports patients at no cost.
To put the ‘fun’ in ‘fundraising’, the association is holding the quirky Hang Ya Boss Out To Dry event on 21 August. From 6am at Wagners on Anzac Avenue, local business leaders will be ‘hung out to dry’ at the top of a scissor lift until they can raise at least $1000. As a little extra incentive, the boss that raises the most money will win two nights at a luxury resort on the Gold Coast with an Audi to enjoy the weekend in, thanks to Audi Centre Toowoomba.
In order to maintain the excellent standard of care provided, the staff at the association need to raise the remaining 60 per cent of funding left after government support. Director of the facility, Jen Taylor, is excited to put the raised funds to good use and appreciates all donations made by the cut off date of 21 August.
All funds raised go directly to the Toowoomba Hospice. As there is limited time left until the close of this fund raising campaign, Jen encourages everyone to spread the word and support this wonderful cause in the local community.
