Market Day was one of a series of USQ Orientation Week events to welcome thousands of new students to the University for the official start of the 2017 academic year. USQ Director (Student Engagement and Leadership) Mr Peter Munster said this year’s event had in excess of 60 stalls and more than 2000 students visiting stands in the Quad and Refectory. “Market Day is an important date on the Orientation calendar,” Mr Munster said. “It gives students the opportunity to gather information about the University and see what support services are available. From a social context it also allows students the chance to connect with each other and make friendships as they make their way along their student journey.” USQ was a hive of activity all week with daily events for new and returning students from live music, games, social sport, international student events and tours. Classes for the new academic year kick-started on Monday, 27 February.
