Peak 2 Park is well and truly on its way to becoming one of the state’s largest community events, helping people lead a healthier and more active lifestyle thanks to a recent boost from Intersport Toowoomba. Next year’s event, to be held on Sunday 3 March, will see Intersport Toowoomba be the presenting partner – the first time a naming rights partner has been a part of this event.

Intersport’s Simon Willing said the Intersport team were gearing up for a huge day with many of the staff keen to take part in the event. “We have a few surprises in store for all taking participants, including extra incentives for the schools who register as each school team will go in the draw to win goodies for their school,” Simon said. “Peak 2 Park has become an iconic community event for Toowoomba and surrounds. Intersport’s key messages are very similar to those of Peak 2 Park’s so we thought it was a perfect fit. We want to help encourage people of all ages to lead a healthier lifestyle and be in the outdoors as much as possible and stay active.”

Next year’s event will once again start at Picnic Point and finish at Lake Annand and will offer a 10 kilometre and four kilometre event. P2P Chair Troy Morgan said it was a real coo for the event, now in its 14th year, to have Intersport Toowoomba on board as a partner. “Every year we have the support of so many businesses and we thank each and everyone of them for this, as it wouldn’t be the successful event it continues to be every year. Our goal has and always will be to put on an event which would in turn help the community be more active and encourage a healthier lifestyle and to now have a major partner like Intersport on board to help us continue to spread this message is really exciting.”

Charities for this year’s event are Eva’s Place, Hope Horizons and Hope for our Children.
