The Southern Downs Regional Council is hosting a special event on Wednesday 30 May to help celebrate Queensland’s Small Business Week (QSBW). The QSBW recognises the vital contribution small businesses make to Queensland’s vibrant economy, and with the event continuing to grow each year, it delivers a range of opportunities for small business owners to network, connect, and learn new skills and tools that will help them succeed now and in the future.

The Southern Downs business community will come together at the event to celebrate and showcase some of the region’s most talented small businesses. Business identities will take to the stage to share their insights into some of the region’s most exciting developments, as well as Council’s latest business attraction campaign, Invest Southern Downs.

Southern Downs Mayor and Councillor for Economic Development and Emergency Services Tracy Dobie encouraged all the region’s small businesses to attend. “We have more than 4000 businesses across the Southern Downs which employ more than 15,000 local residents,” Cr Dobie said. “Our small businesses play a vital role in our region’s economy and this event is a chance to showcase the best of local business and acknowledge contribution our hard working businesses owners make to the fabric of our community. It’s also an opportunity for local businesses to connect and share ideas.”
