Celebrating the achievements of regional women, nominations will close for The Downs 2018 Women in Business Awards (WIBA) at 5pm Saturday 15 September. With more than $10,000 in prizes on offer, local communities are encouraged to nominate inspiring women.

These prestigious annual awards recognise and honour exceptional women making a difference across the Downs region with categories including community dedication, aspiring young achievers from 18 to 28 years, agribusiness and the esteemed Mary Wagner Honour as tribute to Mary Wagner’s commitment and legacy to the region as well as a high school student category.

The Downs 2017 Woman in Business of the Year Catherine Ardi of  Excavation Equipment Pty Ltd said being nominated for a WIBA is a testament to the hard work that goes on behind the scenes for women in leadership roles. “It’s really a nomination for all staff members and the complete business unit,” said Catherine. “It’s all about inclusivity – in business and beyond. The WIBA platform is also a great way for the community to come together to celebrate not only women in business, but also the networks they engage in and support.”

Entrants may enter themselves or be nominated and undergo a rigorous judging process to achieve the level of Awardee of Merit. Finalists and winners are then selected and announced at the Women in Business Awards Official Gala Event in each Awards region.
