Nominations are now open for the Queensland Young Achiever Awards, where young people are recognised for their contribution to their local community.

Anyone aged up to 29 years old who is achieving great results in their life, or is actively involved in their community can be nominated up until Friday 15 December.

There are many different categories that people can be nominated for.

There is a variety of awards across a diverse range of categories on offer, including the LGIAsuper Community Volunteer Award, The Coffee Club Arts and Fashion Award, the BB Print Regional Achiever Award, and the Kennelly Constructions Aboriginal Achievement Award.

The 2017 People’s Choice Award Winner and Community Volunteer Award Winner, Keely Johnson, encourages people to make the most of the opportunity.

“I was nominated for the LGIA Super Community Award, and I was lucky enough to win it and I didn’t think that I would have hope of winning such a prestigious award,” Keely said. “You meet some great friends; I’ve met friends that I’ll be keeping for a very long time.”
