Southern Downs Regional Council is calling on the community to help celebrate the region’s bright young things during Queensland Youth Week (QYW) 2019. Local organisations, community groups, clubs and schools planning an event or activity for young people are encouraged to get listed on the 2019 QYW Southern Downs Calendar of Events. The region’s youth will look to the future and explore limitless possibilities when QYW lights up the Southern Downs from 3 to 14 April.

QYW is an annual celebration which highlights young people aged 12 to 25 and the positive contributions they make to Queensland communities. The 2019 QYW theme unlimited will celebrate the boundless energy young people bring to our communities, encouraging them to look to the future and see limitless possibilities. 2019 QYW is set to be even bigger and better than 2018 when there were almost 200 events held across Queensland. This year’s QYW celebrations have been extended by a few days so high schools can get involved at the end of term.

To list an event on the 2019 QYW Southern Downs Calendar of Events, simply complete QYW event listing form available on Council’s website and return to SDRC’s Community Development Officer – Youth and Engagement, Gwen Jones by 5pm Friday 22 February 2019 at gwen.jones@sdrc.qld.gov.au.

Alternatively, deliver the completed form to one of SDRC’s Community Contact Centres in Stanthorpe or Warwick. To discover more about Queensland Youth Week 2019 head to this website.
