Mary MacKillop Catholic College students Olivia Winter and Brendan Williams both boast outstanding track records in the classroom, and on the sports fields.

Having been at the College since Prep, Olivia Winter is now in Year 8. She has already received an Honours award this year for her academic endeavours, believing focus in class, dedication to study and a strong support network are her keys to success. She loves cricket, having played since age 10, and has been a member of the Queensland Under 14s indoor cricket team, as well as representing the region at a Darling Downs and Inner Downs level. Olivia hopes to study medical science after high school and aspires to play first grade cricket in the Big Bash league, looking to Allan Border medallist and female cricketer Ellyse Perry for inspiration.

Year 7 student Brendan Williams is one of four siblings at the College, having also received an Honours award for his outstanding academic record in 2018. He believes his results can be credited to hard work, and he always puts in the time and effort that is required. Along with his scholastic success, Brendan is a keen sprinter. His dedication to training shows; he has been awarded first in 100 metre and second in the 200 metre sprints at the College carnival. Brendan has his sights set on becoming a lawyer after graduating from the College and intends to continue to sprint as an outlet to burn energy outside the classroom.
