The Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise’s Agribusiness Roundtable events are giving agriculture representatives the opportunity to not only learn from an external expert, but also from each other.

The events will be held regularly to assist areas of the agribusiness supply chain in managing challenges and seeking opportunity, and focus on a specific aspect as part of TSBE’s initiatives aimed at supporting the future growth of the agribusiness sector.

They will bring together agribusinesses who are keen to learn more about a specific topic.

The first Roundtable focused on “How to Secure Investment to Grow Your Business”, while the topic for last week’s lunch was “Export 101” and was held at the TSBE office in Toowoomba.

It gave attendees an insight into some of the considerations to be taken into account when looking to establish or grow and export market for your business.

Some of the topics of discussion on the day included current market overview (including Australia’s key agricultural export destinations), pricing for export, market research and selection, market entry, as well as discussions around future opportunities as a result of the recent Korea–Australia Free Trade Agreement now in place.

TSBE will be holding further Agribusiness Roundtables regularly throughout 2014.
