The Stanthorpe Apple and Grape Festival celebrated 50 years of honouring local produce and multiculturalism in the region. Held from the 26th of February to the 6th of March, the theme of the festival was “When in Rome…” and everyone celebrated in gold colours to honour of the festival’s Golden Anniversary. One of the memorable parts of the festival was international visitors bringing flags of their country to add a great flavour of multiculturalism and get the message of the festival across. The annual Grand Parade made an amazing entrance with guests carrying flags and marching by foot or on elaborate, colourful floats while accompanied by bands.
The Multicultural Food and Wine Fiesta allowed guests a rare chance to taste of some of the world’s award-winning wines and scrumptious gourmet food. Local businesses who wanted to be a part of the enthusiasm got to add more colour by partaking in a decorated windows competition. Guests danced the night away at the Gala Ball in formal evening in gold and white formal wear. In all, the Festival was a fantastic time for families and the community to come together to celebrate with good food and good company.
