Madeleine Settree, who began her studies at Assumption College in Year 8, completed Year 12 in 2017 being awarded the Dux of the College for her outstanding academic achievements.

Madeleine’s learning throughout her years at Assumption College was characterised by a methodical and organised approach.

She achieved success through perseverance and a genuine interest in research.

As a student she applied herself at the highest level receiving both Academic and Application and Effort awards.

Most notably, at the College’s 2017 presentation night Madeleine was awarded Excellence in Academic Achievement awards for being the top Year 12 student in Chemistry, Home Economics, Mathematics B, Physics and Study of Religion.

Madeleine is a maturing young woman who has a polite and cheerful nature with warmth of character and approachability that is to be admired.

The depth of her commitment to her studies added a further dimension to her character.

Of most worthy note is her positive attitude to all life’s vagaries and her ability to constantly generate enthusiasm within her peers.

As a College, Assumption is very proud of Madeleine for achieving her goal of gaining entry into university to study psychology, criminology and forensic science.
