The Autumn garden season is nearly upon us!
A series of open gardens will be showing their wares over coming weeks in places all across our region including the Lockyer Valley, Stanthorpe, Allora and Toowoomba. For more information search for Open gardens Queensland. I intend to get to gardens in Laidley (1 and 2 March), Toowoomba (8 and 9 March) and Allora (15 and 16 March). I reckon you can always get some great ideas from these gardens and from the expert gardeners who make them!
Garden Show season is also starting on the weekend of 8–9 March with the Ipswich Plant Expo. They have a really enthusiastic organiser who is once again promising a really good show. It is being held at the Ipswich Racecourse in Bundamba. I am doing two presentations on the Sunday – the first on some of the great gardens I have seen over the years on our garden tours and the second on the tricks the professionals use to propagate plants. I have included a few images of the gardens I will be talking about with this blog….
I went to the expo last year and was really surprised by the great range of plants for sale and the pleasant friendly atmosphere. If you can get there it is worth the trip (especially on the Sunday!) For more information look on their website which is plantexpo.com.au
Have you come across something interesting? If so please let me know.
