Bell State School’s Captains for 2020 are Year 10 students Blake Priddle and William Green, both of whom started at BSS in Prep.
Blake Priddle excels in practical subjects including Sport and Recreation, HPE, Manual Arts and Ag Sciences. He was Age Champion in 2018, and represented the school for five years at Bunya District and Darling Downs trials for Track and Field events such as Discus, Javelin and Shotput. He has won the Ian Ashbury Memorial Award, Eco School Award 2018, and was a Wonder of Science Champion team member in 2019.
In the future, he hopes to complete TAFE courses for Mining Operations and Large Scale Earthmoving, become accredited and licensed for operating heavy vehicles, and expand his family’s livestock and crop production farms. William Green has consistently won numerous awards at the Annual Awards Nights for academics and behaviour, as well as being in the regional winning team for Wonder of Science.
“I have represented our school in Districts Sports including Cross Country. I have also represented our school at the 2018 Wonder of Science conference in Brisbane with another student,” he said. “I am still trying to figure out exactly what I wish to do in the future. I am considering taking a career in Science whether that be research or something a little more physical. I would hope that I can find a path of life where I can fully utilise my skills and efforts but still live comfortably and enjoyably.”
