Toowoomba congratulated finalists yesterday for being named regional finalists in the Queensland Training Awards.
Members for Toowoomba, Mr Trevor Watts and Dr John McVeigh said the Queensland Training Awards recognised the state’s top apprentices, trainees, trainers and employers in eight categories. “The awards showcase and recognise best practice and innovation in training and I am pleased to congratulate all the finalists from the region who are some of the 24 regional finalists selected, and 168 across Queensland, who will be vying for the title of regional winner next month (July),” Mr McVeigh said.
The Nominees are:
Ms Brianna Rodgers – Bob Marshall Trainee of the Year
Mr Trent Adams – Vocational Student of the Year
Mr Jacob McKellar – Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander of the Year
Mr Mark Meiklejon – VET Teacher or Trainer of the Year
Ms Caysie Hannant – Bob Marshman Trainee of the Year
Ms Kathryn Pamogas – School based Apprentice or Trainee of the Year
And Platinum Stylists – Small Employer of the Year.
The Queensland Training Awards state winners will be announced in September. They will then have the opportunity to progress to the Australian Training Awards held in Adelaide on Friday 21 November 2014.
