Highfields Australian of the Year, internationally acclaimed cake maker and owner of Merivale Cakes and Crafts, Mary Reid is set to release her self-published book Caution! Wedding Cake on Board.

Caution! Wedding Cake on Board details Mary Reid’s 50 year cake journey, from becoming an internationally acclaimed cake creator and tour director, a community and charity advocate and so much more. In her book, Ms Reid shares stories of her life.  “Taking the past 12 months to write up my life’s passion has been a very rewarding journey as I have reconnected with some people that I have not seen or spoken with for up to 40 years,” Ms Reid said. “But the end product certainly has been worth the effort, and I hope that the readers can feel the passion and enjoy the words on these pages too.”

Mary is holding a launch for her book, and the admission fee as well as $5 from the sale of each book sold at the launch will be donated to Blush Cancer Care.  “Merivale happily supported several Blush fundraising events over the years, including decorated cakes in several shapes, sizes and quantities,” says Dr Sharyn Donaldson, President of Blush Cancer Care Inc.  “The Blush Committee was privileged to learn that Mary intends to continue with our community legacy by contributing a portion of Caution! Wedding Cake on Board book sales to our fundraising efforts.” Highfields Australian of the Year Mary Reid has been celebrated internationally for her works, and is looking forward to sharing it with the community.
