“This is where the rubber hits the road,” Chamber President Andrew Wielandt said. “Nominated businesses will be notified in the coming days and then they need to take the leap and start the application process. There are now eleven award categories on offer with six of these allowing businesses the opportunity to win divisional prizes,” said Mr Wielandt.

The Award categories for 2014 are:

  • Tourism & Hospitality,
  • Manufacturing & Industry,
  • Retail & Wholesale,
  • Community,
  • Professional & Business,
  • Innovation,
  • Business Professional,
  • Best New Business and
  • Best Regional Business

“All of these great categories result in the ‘Big One’ – Business of the Year,” Mr Wielandt said. The question I am asked every year is, ‘Why should I apply?’ Well the answer to that is really simple. As an applicant in the Excellence Awards you are provided with the opportunity to really review the way in which your business works. Highlight the areas in which you excel, where you innovate and where you really drive your business to perform and succeed. It just makes good business sense.”
