photo1Celebrate all that winter has to offer at the Toowoomba Camellia Show & Garden Expo.

Hundreds of exquisite camellia blooms will dazzle at the expo on July 16 and 17, held at the TAFE SouthWest Horticulture facility in Toowoomba. Visitors to the Heritage Bank Joan Falvey Camellia Hall will be left breathless by the impressive display of camellia cultivars and species blooms. Jerry Coleby-Williams, from Gardening Australia, and John Robb, from internationally renowned camellia growers Paradise Plants head the line up of guest speakers. Entertainment highlights for the weekend include performances by Toowoomba Choral Society, After Five and Toowoomba Vocal Ensemble. The expo will feature a range of exhibitors, including gardening related products and machinery, arts and crafts, and the chance to win exciting prizes.  Great food will be available, including The Wilsonton Lions barbecue. Additionally there will be displays of vehicles from Mini Owners Club of Queensland, Toowoomba Group on Saturday, and the Darling Downs Veteran & Vintage Motor Club Inc. on Sunday. Coinciding with the show is the opening of the Winter Display Garden at 1 Mabel St, Mt Lofty.  This beautiful garden is dotted with a range of stunning camellias, as well as many outstanding temperate climate plants.  Toowoomba Camellia Show & Garden Expo and the Winter Display Garden are open from 9am to 4pm on July 16 and 17.  Entry is only $5 per event, children under 15 are free.
