Downlands College Vice Captain Jed Campbell has enjoyed an action packed five years. From sport to music, leadership and study, Jed has taken advantage of the many opportunities offered by Downlands to enrich his school life.

In addition to his leadership responsibilities, Jed has competed at the Queensland Championships in both cross country and triathlon races. He is a member of the Downlands First XV Rugby team, which won the 2019 O’Callaghan Cup with a thrilling 27-21 victory over Toowoomba Grammar. “Jed is a true
Downlander; a balanced person who always leads by example,” said Director of Coaching, Garrick Morgan.

In addition to his talent in sports, Jed is a member of the Fortesmen, and the Gryphon Chorale, where he performed as the dual finalist at the Vocal Australia Acapella Awards. He was also a cast member in the last two College Musicals at Downlands, Crazy For You (2018) and Les Misérables (2016). Jed’s remarkable achievements at Downlands have been noticed not only by his peers and teachers, but also by the Queensland State Honours Ensemble Program, which has invited him to participate in its program for vocal talent in October this year.

Jed hopes to continue growing his skill set in sport, academia and music. “I thoroughly enjoy pushing myself to my physical and mental limits and hope to do this through my work and sporting endeavors,” he said.
