Southern Downs Regional Council is seeking Young Leader’s to become a part of the 2017 Youth Program. Enthusiastic young people aged between 15 and 25, living in the Southern Downs region are eligible to apply.
If you would like to get involved in youth concerts, youth week activities, leadership training, and other events, then the Southern Downs’ Youth Leaders Program could be for you. With the support of Council and youth workers, Youth Leaders develop various skills for professional development that are also great for a resume.
The Young Leaders Program is an opportunity for youth to use their initiative to identify exciting projects for the community. The program also offers Young Leaders the opportunity to work in a great, professional environment.
The program is designed to build partnerships across the Southern Downs region, develop opportunities and encourage participation to ensure that the diverse range of young people have a voice and the support to become more independent and self-determining individuals.
The Young Leaders support a variety of major community events and have had input into planning schemes, Master Plans, and the Youth Policy within Southern Downs Regional Council.
The closing date for the receipt of applications is Friday, November 11, 2016. Application forms are available here.
