Worldwide canine aquatics competition Dock Dogs will make its Toowoomba debut at this year’s Heritage Bank Toowoomba Royal Show. Performing daily in the Petstock Arena, the competition boasts three disciplinary events including Big Air, Extreme Vertical and Speed Retrieve, all testing canine abilities in water.

Royal Agricultural Society of Queensland CEO Damon Phillips has been pulling together all the required features of this spectacular event and knows it will be a hit with both water loving pooches and dog lovers alike. “With events including Big Air, Extreme Vertical and Speed Retrieve the audience will watch on as these competitive canines give the competition their best,” said Damon. “This is a great opportunity for amateur dog trainers to bring their furry best friend along and have a go.”

With so many dogs in one place, Damon does require pet owners to have their dog kept on a leash when not competing. While dogs can not enter the pavilion, they will be warmly welcomed on the grounds from 12 to 14 April. Just remember to bring your own towels for you and your pet. “There will be doggy hydration stations, a number of pet friendly areas and exit passes available for dog owners to drop their pet home before coming back to the grounds and enjoying the rest of the show,” Damon explained.
