Grand Central is running an exciting competition to find 10 lucky local dogs and owners to appear in a Dog Fashion Parade on September 21. The centre will be hosting a Community Stage and Market Stalls in their Central Square near Vapiano from 10 am until 2 pm prior to the annual Grand Central Floral Parade.

The iconic Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers sees more than 66 events, including live performances from The Church and The Living End plus appearances from celebrity chef Adam Liaw and more than 1100 hectares of gardens on display.

Councillor Geoff McDonald has not missed a single event and says that “It might sound a bit boring, but the most memorable part of any carnival for me is seeing the smiling faces of children, their parents, and their grandparents all along the parade route of the Grand Central Floral Parade. That image is planted in my memory, and it’s reinforced each year. To me, that is the real highlight and so I look forward to it each and every year.”

There will be a full schedule of free activities for kids and adults in the centre and will this parade will showcase the latest in dog fashion. If you think your pooch is the cutest of them all, upload a photo of them to Grand Central’s Facebook page and be in the running to show off your pup on the grand stage. Nominations close 1 September.
