Council Environment and Community Committee chairman Cr Geoff McDonald said project would provide a cost-effective outcome which will not deteriorate or alter the look of the theatre.

Sky Panel Australia are in the process of erecting extensive scaffolding around the theatre in order to install new aluminium panels.

This three month scaffolding process will have minimal impact to the theatres productions as the construction work will be performed during the day and is not visible from ground level.

“It will also provide added protection, better acoustic and thermal results and is an overall better solution.” Said Cr McDonald

“They hope to have the work done in around three months with minimum interference to the Empire’s scheduled events.” He said.
