Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise (TSBE) will host its next Enterprise Evening in Toowoomba on Thursday 19 July to explore opportunities for businesses looking to capitalise on the renewable developments across the region.
Project Development and Investment Director for Risen EnergyΒ John Zhong has been secured as the keynote speaker and will give an update on Risen Energyβs project development in the region, including the recently announced Yarranlea Solar Farm at Pittsworth. John’s presentation will include information on local procurement opportunities and explain how local contractors can engage with Risen Energy. βRisen Energy (Australia) is going to invest progressively in an excess of 1 GW renewable projects in Australia with further investments in storage in the future,β John said. βWe will be acquiring projects that are shovel ready, projects that are looking for financial and or EPC partner and projects that are looking for a co-developer. Our strategy for financing solar projects is to secure long-term corporate PPAs and fund locally in Australia. We will provide many different finance options for larger commercial and utility-scale developments including construction finance, panel finance, and equity options.”
TSBE Supply Chain General Manager Lance MacManus said TSBE is excited Risen Energy has chosen Toowoomba and the Surat region as the location for its first Australian project. βTSBE has worked with the project since its early days and we are pleased to now see it move forward towards the construction phase and anticipate there will be some great flow on effects for our local economy and supply chain,β Lance said.
