Over time, the exemplary work of Darling Down’s astronomers has launched an international reputation for University of Southern Queensland (USQ) astronomers, astrophysicists, and astrobiologists working with other leading institutions to research the cosmos. Leading minds such as Dr Katarina Miljkovic (Curtin University) and Dr Doug Hudgins (NASA Headquarters) will offer insight into topics such as: the InSight Mission on Mars; Impacts on the Moon and other planets in our Solar System; and exoplanet discoveries (including by USQ Astrophysicists. With events planned in Brisbane, Springfield and Toowoomba, the 2019 Festival of Astronomy is sure to be a stellar event coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon Landing.
