Maranoa Food and Fire Festival

August 12, 2017 @ 3:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Maranoa Food & Fire Festival aims to bring communities across the region together for a diverse multicultural event showcasing international food and entertainment.

The festival was created in 2008 to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of the Great Fire of 1908 which blazed for a phenomenal 45 days after being accidently ignited during the drilling of a gas well on Hospital Hill, Roma. The biennial festival celebrates the long and prosperous oil and gas industry in the area which is still prominent today.

This year will mark the sixth Food & Fire Festival, which has continued to grow since its inception, drawing a crowd of over 4,000 at the last event in 2015.

After much anticipation, it has been revealed that Celebrity Chef, Alastair McLeod will be the culinary star.

This acclaimed chef, television personality and food ambassador for the Lockyer Valley region will bring his experience and quick wit to the Maranoa region with his cooking demonstrations on the day.

At the festival Alastair will showcase some of the region’s best produce, including the tender, grass fed cuts from local supplier, Maranoa Beef.
