Western Downs Australia Day

From Dalby to Dulacca, the Bunya Mountains to Tara, towns across the Western Downs come together to celebrate the comradery of their community with a series of events catering to the entire family. A highlight is the annual awards ceremony, which is Western Downs Regional Council’s opportunity to recognise and thank the outstanding citizens, sportspeople, community groups and creatives who make a valuable contribution to our towns. Australia Day is also used to welcome the region’s newest residents as part of the Australia Day Citizenship Ceremony that is held in one of the region’s towns every year.
