Ross and Ann Higgins hosted a garden party and luncheon at their gardens in Texas on Saturday 7 October. More than 120 people attended the event, which raised more than $9000 for melanoma awareness with all proceeds going directly to the Queensland Cancer Council. Guests speakers included clinical nurse and melanoma survivor Michael Prenzler and medical student Stewart Dick. This was the first many planned future garden parties, with a different cancer awareness promoted each year.
