The inaugural Girls Got Heart charity ride saw 34 women set off from Brisbane to Meandarra on Wednesday, 16 August. The three-day, 450 kilometre ride raised more than $118,000 for the Heart of Australia, far exceeding the original goal of $55,000. Girls Got Heart is a charity founded by Keely Mancini and Rebecca East to help support Heart of Australia, a mobile clinic that services rural Queensland communities. It aims to increase the level of access to healthcare available within regional areas.
