The 2018 student leadership team for SCOTS PGC College is a group of enthusiastic and robust young men and women with a keen attitude and have a common goal to lead by example.
At the forefront of the Prefect body are College Captains Anita Wu and Tom Winter. Anita Wu joined the College in Year 2 and has achieved many noteworthy successes during her time at SCOTS PGC. For three years running, Anita has received Academic Excellence awards, also winning the All-Round Achievement Award in 2017. She is the Lions Youth of the Year (District) Runner Up and is currently completing her Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, which enabled her to meet with Prince Edward in Brisbane earlier this year. Anita draws inspiration from John Quincy Adams’ philosophy, “If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.”
Fellow captain Tom Winter began at SCOTS PGC College in Year 8 and like Anita, is very ambitious. Tom is an all-round sportsman and has competed at the State Championships for both swimming and rugby. He captained both the Darling Downs Swimming and Rugby teams for 2018 and has also received merit for his academic pursuits, while landing a lead role in the musical and helping facilitate the SCOTS Junior Touch competition. Tom lives by the philosophy, “If you do your best, you can’t do any better.” He has certainly lived up to this motto which is expected to see him through to his future goal of studying business in 2019.
