Harley-Davidson enthusiasts and the local community are invited to help launch this year’s Cruise for Cancer event on Saturday, June 11. The launch will showcase a range of Harley-Davidson motorbikes and attendees will go into the draw to win a Cruise for Cancer pillion ride.
Christ Watt, committee president, says he hopes the local community will show their support for this worthy cause. “This is the 15th annual Cruise for Cancer and follows on from last year’s successful event, which raised $18,000 to support cancer patients and the fight against cancer,” Mr Watt said.
“The funds raised go towards supporting the Olive McMahon Lodge in Toowoomba, which provides free accommodation to regional cancer patients undergoing cancer treatment.”
Katie Clift, Cancer Council Queensland spokesperson, says, “The launch is an opportunity for the community to find out what Cruise for Cancer is all about, to register and be inspired”.
“Cruise for Cancer has become an anticipated event on the Toowoomba charity calendar and I would encourage everyone to do what they can to make the 15th annual event a roaring success.”
To ride pillion on the back of a Harley-Davidson motorbike for up to three hours, own a Cruise for Cancer t-shirt, and enjoy morning tea and lunch, registration costs $125. For $40, family and friends of pillion riders can register to ride along in the supporter’s bus and enjoy morning tea and lunch.
