Local Toowoomba boys Mace, Luke, and Liam make up an indie rock ‘n’ roll band called Mace & The Motor, founded in 2009. Their music is inspired by bands such as Radiohead, The Beatles, and Foo Fighters. The boys describe their sound as a combination of ‘screaming sweet vocals’ and a ‘thunderingly tight rhythm’.
Mace & The Motor have been unstoppable since they were selected from more than 350 entrants to open Triple J’s One Night Stand in Dalby in June 2012, where they played their track You’re a Woman Yeah Alright Wow. They shared the stage with a number of renowned musicians, such as Matt Corby, Stonefield, 360, and The Temper Trap. Over 15,000 people attended the free gig, marking the moment the boys were truly able to shine and showcase what they have to offer the Australian music scene.
The trio released their EP Yeah Alright Wow in 2015, and have been on tour spreading their sound across the East Coast. They pride themselves on putting on a killer show and love engaging a crowd. Late last year, Mace and Motor proudly supported Sydney Aussie rock legends You Am I in their hometown, Toowoomba. They have also played in Sydney alongside College Fall and The Shake Up.
Mace & The Motor performed for fans at The Milk Factory on Friday 28 July, which will be their last show before they hit the studio to work on their second album. Playing alongside them was Brisbane’s own hard rock duo Wakan Phoenix, as well as local classic rockers The Flame Fields.
