Western Downs biennial Bloomin’ Creative Showcase returns this September with a diverse exhibition of talent from the region’s established and up-and-coming artists. The highly anticipated showcase at the Tara Memorial Hall will officially open on Friday, September 23.
In addition to the range of arts and crafts on display, this year’s exhibition will also feature well-known Australian landscape painter Carol McCormack. This year visitors will have the opportunity to engage with local artists, who will be sharing their knowledge and skills at a number of demonstrations and workshops throughout the four-day long exhibition.
Western Downs Regional Council Spokesperson for Community and Cultural Development Councillor Kaye Maguire said guests to the Bloomin’ Creative opening night will have a chance to show off their own creative side. “A Wearable Art Fashion Parade will also be happening on the night and we’re inviting everyone to get into the spirit of the exhibition by taking part in our Wearable Art Competition,” she said.
Those attending the official opening of the Bloomin’ Creative Showcase can also look forward to a wine and cheese reception and entertainment by local musicians on the night.
Tickets to the official opening of Bloomin’ Creative are $10 per person, and can be purchased on the night at the door. Funds raised go to LifeFlight. The Bloomin’ Creative Showcase will run from Saturday 24 to Wednesday 28 September. For more information phone 1300 COUNCIL, or click here.
