Toowoomba teenager Emily Martin is in the running for international beauty pageant, Face of the Globe 2016. A teen finalist for the competition, she recently competed in the national finals in August where she placed runner up. However, Emily was crowned Miss Teen Charity Queen for Australia at the national finals for raising over $8000 for the Rainbow Child Foundation. Emily will be one of the Australian representatives at the international finals in Paris next year.
Face of the Globe is an international pageantry competition that focuses on charity, posture, elegance, stage presence, confidence, etiquette, appearance and public speaking.
“In Melbourne I competed in three sections – formal wear, rainbow wear and interview,” says Emily. “You can often relate these categories to onstage modelling. We were also judged on our presentation, punctuality and etiquette on the three days leading up to competition when we were in the hotel and learning our opening numbers.”
“After making it through to the International finals for 2016, I am to continue my fundraising and publicity work as well as appearances. At the international finals we are judged on our Facebook pages as well as all media and publicity work we do for the publicity title. My main goal in my Face of the Globe journey is to bring home the international charity title to Australia.”
“After continuing these efforts I am currently above $16,000 for my charity fundraising hoping to reach over $20,000. With the support from my community in attending my events and generous donations I wish to reach this goal. But I still need more support from my community.”
