Karen Simpson and Jo Capp organised the Love Ya’ Mar Breakfast on Mother’s Day to raise money for the Cooper Rice-Brading Foundation for Sarcoma research and create awareness about the disease. The two mums successfully held the event in Toowoomba and raised more than $3500 for the charity. Karen and Jo have had sons who fought bone cancer. Karen’s son, Jake, passed away in 2016 and Jo’s son, Reid was diagnosed in 2007 and continues to live life to the fullest. Jake’s battle with cancer inspired Karen to partner with CRBF to fund clinical research for Sarcoma.
