In an effort to reduce the number of feral animals within the Maranoa, Council’s feral animal baiting campaign will be taking place from Friday, 28 March to Friday, 11 April.

For Council to purchase the correct amount of meat, landholders must submit a bait meat order form by Tuesday, 21 February 2014.

Councillor Jan Chambers Portfolio Chair for Pest Management said that the coordinated program is available to assist landholders in helping to keep feral animals at bay, across the entire region.

“Council’s baiting campaign aims to help reduce the numbers of wild cats, pigs and dogs on your property,” Cr Chambers said.

“As this is a coordinated effort, we will see the most effective outcome if we get a great number of landholders participating.”
