Maranoa Volunteers gathered at Westlands Plaza last month to showcase the region’s volunteering efforts and to campaign for more volunteers.
The Volunteer Booth was a combined effort between Council staff and volunteers from throughout the Maranoa.
Volunteers promoted their experiences as a great way to give back to your local community and a fantastic opportunity to meet new people.
Councillor Ree Price Portfolio Chair for Tourism was thrilled with the success of the day and said that it was a great turn out, for both current and future volunteers.
“It was great to see volunteers spreading the word that more help is needed throughout the region – we were successful in registering 20 new members to the team!” Cr Price said.
“It was also a great opportunity for volunteers throughout the Maranoa to join forces and speak with locals who came into the plaza.”
