Following the devastating fires that blew through Stanthorpe and the South East, Mary Mackillop Catholic College rallied together on 14 September with local Toowoomba sponsors to create a day of fundraising, races and all-round good community fun. College Principal, Chris Gabbett said, “The hope is that our fundraising can really hone in and make a difference to those who we’ve witnessed on the news losing everything, have property damage, have been displaced or just need a helping hand.” Raising more than $13,000 profit on the day of the races, it is expected that these funds will help in supporting those most affected by the blaze.
