An event for the Toowoomba community will help Close The Gap in Indigenous Health, according to organisers Darling Downs South West Queensland (DDSWQ) Medicare Local.
The Close The Gap event, to be held on 26 March, will offer free flu shots, Aboriginal dance, face painting, giveaways and free BBQ.
Free t-shirts and caps will also be given out by the Darling Downs Population Health Unit to all those who have their free flu vaccination.
“Closing the gap in the rates of death and disability between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Queenslanders is a high priority for our organisation,” said DDSWQ Medicare Local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Manager Liz Davis.
“Everyone in the community is welcome to attend this event to help learn more about Closing the Gap so that all Australians can eventually come to expect longer, healthier lives.”
The event will be held at the Jack Martin Centre, 552 Anzac Avenue Toowoomba between 10am and 2pm.
