The Toowoomba Chamber of Commerce’s 2016 Heritage Bank Business Excellence Awards to be held on Saturday, October 8 are now accepting nominations of local businesses in the region. This annual Awards recognises the business community’s role in the economic sector and celebrates the diversity, innovation and excellence of Toowoomba businesses. The theme for the awards this year will be ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’.
The Awards constitute nine different categories including Best Regional Business and their new category of Future Star. The esteemed Heritage Bank Business of the Year Award is selected from the winners of each category.
Leanne Gillam, General Manager of the Toowoomba Chamber of Commerce says, “The Awards are an occasion for business owners, managers and staff to critically assess their performance, successes and plans for the future”.
Chief Executive Officer of Heritage Bank, Peter Lock said considering the vibrant business sector of Toowoomba region, they encourage business leaders to become more creative, professional and confident through their support of these Awards.
Lifeline Darling Downs and South-West Queensland were the winners of the Heritage Bank Business of the Year Award last year. Their CEO, Derek Tuffield said, “Winning the award was a ‘truly amazing experience’ that has created awareness for Lifeline and the not-for-profit sector not only locally but also Australia-wide.”
He added, “Winning this Award increased awareness about the services we provide and confirmed to our board and staff that we are valued in the community”.
