Highlife Downs Living Magazine profiled Jondaryan Homestead nine years ago and it was a treat to go back and see it again on the weekend and support the Australian Open Garden Scheme and Zonta Toowoomba.

Zonta Toowoomba is famous for its catering (they’re a bunch of clever foodies this lot) and funds raised from the weekend event will go to the Mater Children’s Hospital’s Paediatric Intensive Care Unit.

Jondaryan Homestead is great fun for “nosey parkers” to explore as there are many historic buildings on the property such as the meat house, tack room, store, schoolroom and Chinaman’s huts.

After all these years it’s good to see Jondaryan Homestead is still very much a working property. Whilst there aren’t any sheep it is  an impressive Black Angus Stud farm.

Jondaryan Homestead’s owners, the Daveys, have worked some magic into the gardens too which are lush and green and very inviting.
